Certain conditions can cause a raised prolactin level (hyperprolactinaemia), which can suppresses the production of other hormones (called luteinising hormone, LH, and follicle stimulating hormone, FSH) from the pituitary gland, and therefore in turn result in low testosterone levels. Low testosterone levels can subsequently predispose to erectile dysfunction.
